Japan’s ‘Godmother’ Hatoyama passes away at 90

Yasuko Hatoyama, the mother of former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, has died at the age 90. Yasuko, daughter of the founder of global tire company Bridgestone, married into the hugely influential Hatoyama political clan sometimes dubbed as “Japan’s Kennedys”.
