Body parts found in pond at Tokyo park

Various body parts were recovered from a pond in a park in Tokyo's Meguro Ward on June 23 after a man reported to police that he saw something looking like a human leg in the pond, it has been learned.
A man passing through the park at around 10:30 a.m. on June 23 reportedly spotted an object that looked like a human leg in the pond and reported it to a nearby police box. After officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Himonya Police Station searched the pond, they discovered several parts of a body including a head, the trunk of a body and a leg. Police are trying to identify the parts and have launched an investigation on suspicion of illegal disposal of a body.
According to sources close to the matter, the body parts were badly decomposed. Police have been unable to determine the sex of the body.
The park is located in a residential neighborhood some 400 meters southwest of Gakugei-daigaku Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line.

今回取り上げるのはtrunk of a bodyです。

LDOCEでも“the main part of your body, not including your head, arms, or legs”と定義されています。

(flyingbird)
