今回はshipに注目してみます。「船」や「輸送する」などの意味で広く知られているかと思いますが、違った意味もあるようです。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版，大修館）で調べたところ、「〈人・物〉を[・・・へ]（厄介者として）追い払う（send）(off)[to]」という定義を見つけました。
LDOCE（五訂版）には、 “to order someone to go somewhere”と載っておりました。 “ship O off”や “ship O out”などのように使用するようです。例文に “He was shipped off to a juvenile detention center”がありました。
記事内では、want~ shipped homeの形で「本国に（のしをつけて）送り返したかった」とありますので，「輸送する」と「追い払う」どちらの意味合いも兼ねて使用されているように思いました。（Gomez）

気になったのは，“navigate through”という表現です。“navigate”と聞くと，日本語でも「ナビゲーション」と言うように，「〈車・船・飛行機など〉を誘導する，(進路を選んで)操縦する」という意味が先に思い浮かびますが，ここではどのような意味で用いられているのでしょうか。
“navigate (through)”をCollins English Dictionaryで調べてみると，“If you manage to navigate a difficult situation, you deal with it successfully.”と定義されていました。さらに『ジーニアス英和辞典』(大修館書店)でも確認すると，「〜を(注意して〔安全に〕)通り抜ける」というところから転じて，比喩的に「〈複雑〔困難〕な状況〉をうまく切り抜ける」と使われることがあるとわかりました。

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced today that "Britax has announced 33 reports" of incidents that “have resulted in 26 injuries to children.”
The injuries include scratches, bruises, cuts and bumps to the head, according to the commission's report.
Consumers can contact Britax for a free repair kit, according to the commission.
The strollers are sold in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

"engage"「婚約する、約束する」に否定の"dis"が付いて「約束から解放される」というニュアンスから意味が想像できるかと思います。

Kim Jong Nam ‘poisoned’ with ricin or puffer fish toxin
Malaysian police suspect Kim Jong Nam, the North Korean leader’s half brother, was poisoned with either ricin or tetrodotoxin, the Malaysian Sin Chew Daily online reported on Thursday.
According to the daily, a bottle of liquid poison that could have been used to kill Kim was found in the bag of one of the suspects, Doan Thi Huong, a 28-year-old woman with a Vietnamese passport. She was arrested on Wednesday.
An autopsy on Kim was completed Wednesday night, but the cause of death has not been revealed.
It is believed a poison stronger than potassium cyanide was used to kill Kim.
Ricin, a lethal chemical found in the seeds of castor-oil plants, was used in 1978 to assassinate a Bulgarian dissident writer in Britain.
Tetrodotoxin, also known as puffer fish poison, is said to have a toxicity about 1,000 times that of potassium cyanide.
