horse-and-buggy 復習

今朝一番の東アジアの歴史の授業で気になった表現を紹介します。今日は清代末から辛亥革命あたりの中国史を今日の授業ではカバーしました。そこで、取り上げる表現は、horse-and-buggyです。この文脈に当てはまるとは到底思えない単語の並びであったことから強く印象に残ったので紹介します。そこで『ジーニアス英和辞典』(第五版、大修館書店)を引いてみますと「[限定]（米略式）旧式の、時代遅れの」とありました。

Fall break has started. Let me look back at past two months since fall semester began. The biggest factor that I struggle is time management. As you might already know, I am taking four classes during this semester. Frankly speaking, I am getting pretty much more comfortable with all of the classes week by week. In addition, especially in social justice and human rights, every class is meaningful and productive. Furthermore, grateful enough, most of my friends here in UNL care about me. However, one thing I realized was that there was much room for improvement in terms of preparing for upcoming classes and reviewing the day classes as well as keeping times for myself by the time I went to bed efficiently. After fall break, I am focusing on it.

Taking about fall break, I am going to Kansas city which is about two-hour drive from Lincoln, Nebraska with my friends this weekend!
