8月26日放送分 Accepting an Invitation to a Barbecue Party (UNIT42)

ディクテーション

Two days before the barbecue pary,
Hiro and Jake are having lunch.
Hiro asks jake some questions about barbecues.

Hiro:
Jake, I was wondering what barbecue means.
Is it like a picnic?

Jake:
Abosulutely. It's like a cook-out.
I'm not sure where the word comes from.
But a barbecue is done outdoors in warm weather.

Hiro:
Is it for a special occasions?

Jake:
That's often the case, especially with political or other social groups.

Hiro:
And what is cooked?

Jake;
Usually, it's beef or pork.
For example, a whole pig can be roasted over (a?the?) fire.
Barbecue can also refer to the steel framework that holds th pig over the fire.
So it can be turned slowly to cook evenly.

Hiro:
Sounds like a major operation. Will we be doing that at yout place?

Jake:
No way.
We'll do a much smaller operation.
We will cook only small pieces of beef and poke.
But out special attraction is Eastbrook's spicy barbecue sauce.

Hiro:
I can't hardly wait to try it.
