ディクテーション

Don Potter's colleagues wonder if it's a midlife crisis that's keeping him out of the office.

Rosa:
I haven't seen Don Potter around for a few days.
Is anything wrong with him?

Melinda:
Well, things have been quite hactic with Don recently.
I understand he has experienced something of a burn-out,
and has decided to take a few days off to recuperate quietly at home.
Maybe it's some sort of midlife crisis.

Cortez:
You mean he is ditching the family station wagon for sparkling red sports car
and trading his wife in for a young model.

Jay:
Oh no. Don't be so melodramatic, Rosa.
That's an old cliche and an exaggerated image of a midlife crisis.
Don is thirty something.
Most of us go through some sort of personal crisis at one point or another in life.
It's a rite of passage as you grow older and hopefully wiser.

Cortez:
But for some, the midlife crisis sets in much earlier than for others, doesn't it?

Tyson;
That's true.
You can no longer equate a midlife crisis with middle age.
Some call it a quarterlife of crisis.
Many young people are wrestling a kind of issues long associated with middle age.
You know, feeling of the worry, disappointment, or lack of confidence
as you look back on th past.

Kinkaid:

So what specifically are Don's problems?
