〈タイトル〉
祭りか？山か？
What is alternative? Festival or mountain?
〈主旨〉
過去、表現のアウトプットは美術館からギャラリーへ、ギャラリーからパブリックへ、そしてよりソーシャルな場へと、オルタナティブな形態に裾野を広げていった。そこには常に、社会情勢や西洋美術の文脈に対しての思想の闘争が存在した。そして、その意義自体を否定によって歴史と共に見いだしてきた。90年代以降に突入すると、オルタナティブな活動はその意義を地域社会に対して求めるようになる。その連綿と繋がる時代の流れの中でこれから先、オルタナティブな表現が持つ可能性を想像してみる。
インタラクティブな情報溢れるネット現代を『普通』として生きているデジタルネイティブ世代が社会へ台頭するようになる頃には、あらゆる選択肢が世界へ無限に増殖しているだろう。そして、その増殖は結果的に私たちへ否定以外の方法で新たな価値観を生み出すことを現実的な選択肢として与えうるのではないだろうか。社会情勢や西洋美術の文脈を否定をすることなく、社会や文脈の側から求められる表現に陥ることもなく、そこからより遠くに離れて行く表現行為は、今直ぐに価値を説明できるものではないかもしれない。
自己の欲求の根源を純粋に求め続ける行為は、ある種アスリートや登山家などに近いと言える。「何故こんな事をしているんだ？」「もっと合理的にできるんじゃないか？」そのような疑問に対して、私たちを受け止めるのは「楽しいから。」その一言である。
祭りの囃子が聞こえてくると、どうしてもそこに向かわざるを得ない高揚感が沸き上がる。祭り囃子を、神輿を、櫓を目指して祭り好きが集まってくる。きっと山を登る理由と同じだろう。ここに建てた標はそれである。
その標を軸に、それぞれが相対的ではない価値観を持ち、純粋な欲求により繋がる自律した個の群生。そんな状況から始まる事に、次のオルタナティブがあるのではないだろうか。

In the past, output of expression changed that filed from museum to gallery, to public, to the social place, which has more alternative form. The battle of thought, against to social situation and western art context happened every time, everywhere in Japan. And we figure out those meaning itself by denying it with history. After era goes to ‘90s, Alternative action desired itself meaning of existence to the local community. On the chained era movement, We image the possibility of alternative expression.
The digital native generation, who is living in the society which is full of interactive information splitting out from internet. When they start gain their power in the society, a billion of choice might increasing in this world. And, that kind of increase might give us a realistic choice, that we don’t need deny but possible to create a new value thoughts. Don’t need to deny social situation, western art context, Don’t need to drop into the mud of expression which is requested by the side of social and context, And something going far from those spot, Is might not be able to explain that value.
The conduct, quest your radical desire purely, is similar to athlete or alpinist, in some meaning. ‘’Why am I doing this ?’’ ‘’Can’t we do this more logical ?’’ To those doubt, what catch us is only one sentence ‘’Because it’s fun’’.
When we heard the music of festival, you’re sure that you cannot just sit down and continue what you were doing just few seconds ago. People who love festival go toward Matsuri-Bayashi( music of festival ), Mikoshi( portable shrine ), Yagura ( stage ). Maybe this is same with the reason why we climb mountain. Sign we build here, is same.
Based to this sign, autonomous personality whom has each have un-relative idea will be tied by pure desire. Next alternative might starts from this situation, I think.
