Super Midi Scripter v0.830 / AZ AUDIO - MIDI scripting plugin

PV counter

from Product Page "Free Pages Personnelles: Erreur 404 - Document non trouvé"
and KVR News: "KVR: AZ Audio updates SuperMidiScripter to v0.830" (on 2008-11-28).

http://azertopia.free.fr/Supermidiscripter.html

On KVR News on 2008-11-28, new version of "SuperMidiScripter",
a script based MIDI processing plugin, was announced.

Primary purpose of this is MIDI processing such as generating, filtering, or translating events.
I think this may be useful for articulation switching as in NI kontakt, or for dynamic phrase generation which accompanied user performance as in KORG Karma.
(I'll examine details of these ideas on later)

HTT-SIKA Oriental Scale & HTP Darbukator Lite / HTT - free ethnic instruments

On 2008-11-29, two interesting ethnic instruments ware registered on Gersic.com.
Developer "Human Touch Technology" (HTT) is a company established in 2002 in Egypt, and they released 6 virtual ethnic instruments since 2007.

I've missed these news at that time, so now I clip freebies from their page, and try to introduce these: (I'll add more info on later...)

Hey folk,
I have a simple delay plug for you. It uses a divisor of the BPM to set the tap length, with the ability to use your own fraction. It's kinda cool I hope to be able to browse different tap lengths easily. Here 'tis->

Any ideas or feedback welcome. Just click the divisor box for fraction selection.screenshot

Cheers

Cobalt v1.0.3 / Leslie Sanford - upgraded

KVR: Cobalt - Small Bug Fix

(quoted from KVR Forum Topic posted by Leslie Sanford)

Hello,

Cobalt has been upgraded to v1.0.3.

The main improvements are two bug fixes.

One bug is graphics related.
It occurred when the system it's running on is using a non-standard DPI setting.
This caused the controls to be rendered in the wrong positions.

The second bug is related to LFO synchronization.
When the host is not playing and LFO sync is turned on, the LFO's stop working.
This has been corrected.

If you tried out the demo and ran across this problem,
I encourage you to try the demo again:

Also, the switch controls have been changed
so that you don't have to drag them to change their state.
All you have to do now is click on them.
A very small improvement, but an improvement nonetheless.

Cobalt is almost a year old, and it's pass time that I start working on it again.

Cobalt

(quoted from Product Page) Cobalt is a VSTi software synthesizer inspired by many of the digital synthesizers from the 1980s. In the early 80s as digital technology became cheaper, many manufacturers designed synthesizers that combined earlier analog technology with newer digital technology. These were known as hybrid synthesizers. Well-known hybrid synthesizers are the Korg DW8000 and DW6000, the Ensoniq ESQ-1, and the Kawai K3. In analog/digital hybrid synthesizers, the oscillators responsible for generating waveforms are digital while the filter section remains analog. This approach freed designers to use any kind of waveform; they were no longer restricted to traditional analog waveforms such as sawtooth, triangle, and pulse. However, by using an analog filter, these synthesizers retained the warmth earlier analog synthesizers were known for. Though Cobalt is a purely digital synthesizer, its overall architecture is very much like those early hybrid synthesizers. It features a wide selection of waveforms, most of which were resynthesized from actual hybrid synthesizers, while providing traditional subtractive synthesis capabilities for sculpting its sound. Key Features
  • GUI created by grymmjack
  • 26 waveforms - many of which were resynthesized from 80s hybrid synths.
  • Flexible modulation routes.
  • Apply PWM to any waveform.
  • LFO delay.
  • Polyphonic Portamento.
  • Key tracked envelopes.
  • Rich overdrive effect based on a custom algorithm.
  • Stereo delay effect with MIDI synchable delay times.
  • Easy to use.
Cobalt can sound at times warm and rich while at other times cold and stark. From gentle pads to screaming leads, Cobalt's gotcha covered.
