Version 1.1 of NastyVSD is just out and includes some important bugfixes and improvments. It's included in the 1.2.1 package of this Plug-In series. See my blog for details and download.

An important update to the NastyVSD “virtual summing device” Plug-In is available.

Version 1.1 covers some bugfixes and improvements:

  • bugfix: crosstalk issues
  • bugfix: proper delay reporting to host
  • change: routing changed (input stage - limiter - clipper)
  • change: new and improved limiting algorithm
  • change: manual updated

The update is available in the 1.2.1 Nasty series package. See latest versions / download section.

All other Plug-Ins remain unchanged in 1.2.1

on January 8, Microsoft released “Songsmith” by Microsoft Research
Songsmith is a helper soft to create songs using just user's voice.
According to a blog “i started something”,
Songsmith is the product of a Microsoft Research project with a student from the University of Washington called “MySong” which was showed off in early 2008.
The software can automatically provide musical melodies to accompany any vocal singing you provide, making anyone audible a potential songwriter. Not that every teenager should be one.

Interesting features on Songsmith:

  • Microsoft Songsmith helps user to create songs using user's own voice by musical accompaniments of a selected style.
  • musical styles and instruments are expandable through partners, PG-Music (famous with “Band-in-a-Box”), Garritan (famous with Garritan Sample Libraries) and Plogue (release ARIA player on CES2009).
