家への帰還 Return to my home

こちらは元気です。
数日前、村に戻ってきました。

日本に帰っていたのもあり、かれこれ１カ月留守にしておりました。

この田舎の家を留守にするというのは非常に怖いです！
７月の学校長期休みの際もしばらく家を空けましたが、その際は
家の中がひどいことになっていました。
以前も少しブログに書きましたが、ここでおさらいさせてもらいます。

●長期留守にした後の家の状態（去年７月）

　①【家の中&寝室】
　　いたるところにねずみの糞　⇒後日ねずみ目撃。
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　そのまた後日、毒により死んだねずみも発見。

　②【中庭の外にある納屋】
　　巨大なふ●がたくさん⇒あるタンザニア人曰く、犬がふくろうの糞
　　　　　　　　　　　　　（１枚目の写真参照）

　③【トイレ（これまた中庭の外にあります）】
　　巨大な鳥がそこを住処としていた。⇒扉を開けた瞬間大きな音を立てて飛び立って
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　いった。便器には白い液体状の糞がこれまた
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　垂れ流し。
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　（２枚目の写真参照）

とまあこんな状態だったわけです。

今回はこのようにはいかせない！
という意気込みで１２月家を空ける前、並々ならぬ意気込みで
下記のように色々な準備をしました。

●実施項目
　①掃除。かなり徹底的に。

　②漂白剤散布。

　
　　→ねずみや虫に効くと聞いたので漂白剤を含んだ水で床掃除を再度実施。

　③ムカデ用の粉を設置。

　
　　→母が送付してくれました。その粉を置いとくとムカデ等の進入をふせぐというものです。
　　　寝室の入り口と窓に設置しました。
　　　これはムカデも嫌がるわというくらい確かにすごいにおい！

　④生徒のヘルプ

　　→以前一番被害を受けた中庭、及び中庭から外にある納屋やトイレ等の週一掃除を生徒に
　　　お願いしました。
　　　１回につき１人５００Tsh（日本円にして約２５円）、ということでやってもらいました。
　　　（何回やったかがわかる記入用紙も中庭に設置。）

　　　※中庭だけ鍵をかけず開放しておきました。

というように今回は万全を期して家を空けたわけです。

そして今回１月某日、いよいよ村に戻ってきました。

あれだけやったけどまたねずみいたらどうしよう？
死骸がまた横たわってたらどうしよう？鳥いたらどうしよう？

心配と不安でかなりどきどきしながら家の中に入りました！！

見ていただけたでしょうか。カメラワークの悪さはご了承ください。

糞らしきものがいっぱい落ちていてかなり慌てた様子がわかるかと。

しかし、糞かと思ったそれは糞ではなく虫の死骸でした！！
ごきぶりとかコオロギとかそういう類のものです。
くもの巣も結構ありましたが、ねずみはいなさそうなので一応OK！

そして中庭！
さすが生徒の掃除の甲斐ありすんごく綺麗でした！鳥も何も住んでません！
そして記入用紙を見る限り毎週ちゃんと来て掃除してくれたようです。

ありがたいですね。

さて、居間（？）と中庭周辺が終わり、チェックするのも残すところあと１つの
部屋となりました。
そうです、一番の懸念点、勉強部屋兼寝室です。ここで過ごす時間が一番長いので
ここがやられてると一番つらいのです。

（実は寝室以外にもう１部屋ありますが、そこは全く使用しておらず何も置いて
　いないので心配してませんでした。）

はい、どうでしょうか。寝室は虫の死骸も動物の糞もほとんど
見当たらず綺麗だったわけです！！

全然綺麗じゃない？机が散らかってる？
まあそれは置いといてください。もともとです、ははは…。

ちなみに、ビデオにてこの粉のおかげだと言っていたのは上記に書いた
ムカデ用の粉のことですね。かなり慌ててたのでとかげとか言ってますが…。

とまあこんな状況で今回の家への被害は小さな虫達の死骸やくもの巣のみという
ことで最小限におさめられたのでした。

めでたしめでたし。

I'm doing well.
Some days ago, I came back to my village.

Since I visited Japan for a while, I was absent from my house
for more than one month in total.

I was so so scrared to leave this country house for such a
long time!!

Though I was away from here for some time on the long holiday of
last July also, then my house was so terrible when I came back...

As I wrote this before in this blog,I want to say again what happened
before in my house.

●The situation of my house after long absence （last July）
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

　①【Bedroom and other space in my house】
　　　A lot of feces of mice　⇒Later a mouse was found.
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　And then later a mouse was found dead by a poison.

　②【A storage barn of outside, next to the courtyard】
　　　A lot of huge feces ⇒A Tanzanian person said that they were those of a dog
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　or an owl.(See the first picture above.)

　③【A toilet（This is also outside the house, next to the courtyard）】
　　　A huge bird was living there.⇒Soon as I opened the door of it, that bird
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　flew away to somewhere.
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　White liquid feces were flowed on the toilet
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　stool.(See the second picture above.)

That's all of what happend last July in my home.

I thought that I never want to make my house as it was last time!
And do before leaving my house on December, I perepared for many things
by extraordinary efforts.

●What I did before leaving there.

　①Cleaning thoroughly

　②Putting a bleach on the floors

　
　　→Since I heard it was effective in preventing mice and other insects from coming,
　　　I cleaned the floors again by water mixed with the bleach.

　③Putting powder against centipedes

　
　　→That powder which my mother had sent to me was what prevented centipedes from
　　　coming inside. So I left it below the entry of my bedroom and the window of that
　　　room.
　　　It seemed to be a kind of a strong drug because that smelt terrible!

　④My students' assistance

　　→I asked some of my reliable students to clean the courtyard, the storage barns and
　　　the toilet, which were outside of the house building and had suffered the most
　　　serious damage before on July.

　　　I said them that I would pay 500Tsh(about $0.3) to them every cleaning per person.
　　　(I hung a form to be filled in on the door of the courtyard to know how many times
　　　each student cleaned there.)

　　　※I left only those area unlocked.

As above, I made as many efforts as I could before I left my home.

And then, on a certain date of January, at last I came back to my village.

（What should I do if there would be a mouse at home though I did anything I could?
　What should I do if I would see a carcass of it? If there would be a bird?）

While I was so worried like above, I entered my home.

Thank you for seeing it. And I have to apologize for my poor ability to take the
video.
In that video, I was so ruffled to see a lot of kinds of small feces on the floor
and so I took off the video...

But what I thought was feces were the dead bodies of small insects such as cockroaches
or crickets.

Though there are lots of cobwebs, it was OK for me because it seemed there was no mouse.

And then I went to see the courtyard, toilet and storage barn！
They were so clean thanks to my students' contribution!! No bird this time!:)
The form told me that the students came to my house every Monday for cleaning.

I am very grateful to them.

Anyway, now only one room had yet to be checked.
Yes, that was my bedroom, which was the room of my biggest worries.

Since I spend the longest time there while I'm at home, it would be the most
painful to me if the room would suffer some damage.

（In fact there is the other room except for that bedroom, but I never use
　the room and nothing is left there and so I didn't care about the room)

I am so sorry again that it was in Japanese,but in the video I was
surprised to see how clean the room was and how few the dead bodies of
insects and the feces of animals were.

I was so happy, excited and said it was thanks to the powder against
against centipedes (Maybe you could see it, the black powder, in the
video)!!

You say it was not clean there ? My desk was in a mess?
Please ignore it. It's always as it was in the video. Hahaha...

Anyway, this time what I found at my home was just dead bodies of small insects
and cobwebs and my house was kept as clean as possible.

I was satisfied with this result:)

last blog, on or after the next blog!
