Set six years after Tunnels Of Blood, Book 4 of the Saga introduces many new characters; explains a lot about vampires, their history and ways; and also reveals the shocking truth about the mysterious Little People!

vampireの規則・試練・神話などなどが明かされていきます。なかなか厳しい世界のようですがcoolな利点もあり、Darren(と読者)にとっては新鮮なことばかりでかなり興奮です！一人のvampireとして、自分と師(Mr Crepsley)の誇りをかけて困難に立ち向かうことを決意するDarrenに感動しました。Darren Shanシリーズを読むときはいつでもそうですが、特に今作品では想像力を膨らませ、情景を描くことが２倍、３倍に楽しむコツでしょう。お気に入りはシャワーシーンです♪

前作からちょっぴり大人になった、ダレン少年。
この作品からヴァンパイアのことや
いままでに登場した、不思議な人物たちのことが
少しづつわかってくると同時に
ダレン少年にも新たなる試練が！
だいたい一冊づつ一応の完結をしていたが、
この作品からは、しばらくお話が続くようなので、
わくわくドキドキです。

Read these books when a child, I really enjoyed them as a child. I liked reading about Darren Shan, the different vampires and how they lived and the vampaneze. I decided to read again as an adult now so I have the whole collection on my kindle (same as the Harry Potter books!) They are a very easy read, doesn't take long to read (two days max), story doesn't stand up to much but as a quick read, can t go wrong. Lose yourself in childhood times!

I really enjoyed this mysterious book, I adore the Darren Shan series, there just spectacular! The way the well-chosen words are twisted wonderfully just gives the book a realistic feel. I would definitely recommend this book, it's absolutely marvellous.

Darren Shan and his mentor, Mr Crepsley make the brutal journey to Vampire Mountain. Once in the mountain, Darren accepts a challenge from the most feared fighter in the mountain, and fails in pride. Then Darren and Mr Crepsley face the Vampire Princes, and Darren is asked to prove himself in a brutal, barbaric way...
