Hinsichtlich der Grammatik ist dieses Vorhaben gelungen. In angemessenem Tempo (ein Singular/Plural-Paar von Nominalklassen per Lektion) und logischer Reihenfolge werden die wesentlichen Strukturen erläutert.
Die Präsentation der Vokabeln ist in mehreren Punkten mißlungen. Es wird nicht die allgemeine Bedeutung, sondern die im Kontext des jeweiligen Dialoges angegeben. Die Auswahl entspricht wohl eher dem, was für den jeweiligen Dialog benötigt wird, und nicht der Häufigkeit des Vorkommens (Wortfrequenzanalyse). Wortbildungsverfahren (z.B. -esha) werden relativ spät erläutert, obwohl ihr Verständnis beim Lernen sehr hilft.
Die Realitätsnähe der Dialoge wage ich nicht abschließend zu beurteilen. Mir scheint, dass sie zum Teil einen älteren Zustand wiederspiegeln - der Ältere wird mit "Shikamoo" begrüßt, um den Preis jeder einzelnen Banane wird verhandelt - aber vielleicht ist das an manchen Orten noch so. Es ist jedenfalls auf jeden Fall ein Mangel, die weniger formelle Variante nicht zu erwähnen (also z.B. "Jambo!" - "Jambo!" - "Habari?" - "Nzuri" zur Begrüßung.) Alle Dialoge zusammen bilden eine kleine Geschichte - den Verlauf einer Reise - welche ganz nett ausgedacht ist.
