"This is an interesting book, and certainly not what I was expecting when I volunteered to review it…Chapter 9 summarizes the book, and reminds the reader/designer that it is important to test the design on a large network of (different) devices in order to deliver an optimal user experience." --ComputingReviews.com, June 2014

Clear and concise but a little short on detail

I thought the book is prety good, but would have like to have seen more detail in terms of real orl examples. Overall, I would rate the book as a good introductio - a starter pack. As a final comment - it is strange to have the appendix include wire frames that you can photocopy and re-use - when clearly everyone today uses various tools, such as Balsamic or proto.o and many other as examples ....

A solid intro to the mobile web
This is an excellent book for someone who wants to be able to speak with authority about the mobile web. When I started the book, I really wanted to know more about the pros and cons of mobile apps versus responsive design, and the book gives a solid overview that helped me determine what would work for the site I would like to build. (Responsive for the win!)
The book also covers the importance of site speed on mobile. Given the perils of "content creep," this book provides important arguments for why both the code and content of pages must be streamlined.
Finally, the patterns in the back are handy for those who like to paper prototype. If there is another edition of the book, I would like to see a longer discussion about wireframing programs or what to look for in a wireframing program. In general, I wish the book went more in depth in each chapter, but I guess if the author is used to developing for mobile, he will tend to keep things short and sweet.

Zu wenig UI Patterns
