著者について

When Dav Pilkey was a kid, he was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. Dav was so disruptive in class that his teachers made him sit out in the hallway every day. Luckily, Dav loved to draw and make up stories. He spent his time in the hallway creating his own original comic books -- the very first adventures of Dog Man and Captain Underpants.

In college, Dav met a teacher who encouraged him to write and illustrate for kids. He took her advice and created his first book, World War Won, which won a national competition in 1986. Dav made many other books before being awarded the California Young Reader Medal for Dog Breath (1994) and the Caldecott Honor for The Paperboy (1996).

In 2002, Dav published his first full-length graphic novel for kids, called The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby. It was both a USA Today and New York Times bestseller. Since then, he has published more than a dozen full-length graphic novels for kids, including the bestselling Dog Man and Cat Kid Comic Club series.

Dav's stories are semi-autobiographical and explore universal themes that celebrate friendship, empathy, and the triumph of the good-hearted.

When he is not making books for kids, Dav loves to kayak with his wife in the Pacific Northwest.

Jerome Horwitz Elementary Schoolに通ういたずら大好きのワンパク少年の
GeorgeとHarold。常にいたずらばかりしているこの２人は漫画を描くのも
好き。２人が生み出したキャラクターは、パンツ一丁にマフラーを巻いて
活躍するその名も”Captain Underpants”。そのシリーズの第３作目です。

ある日、学校の屋上に３匹のエイリアンを乗せた宇宙船が辿り着きます。
先生も生徒も誰もそれに気づかずにいつも通りの一日が始まりました。
いつも通りというのは、GeorgeとHaroldにとっても同じ。いたずら心を
全開に、この日も食堂を大パニックにしてしまいます…。そして、食堂
のおばさんたちが、それに端を発したゴタゴタのために仕事を辞めてし
まったのです…。

そこに入り込んできたのが、厚化粧と偽装をした宇宙人たち。校長先生
のMr Kruppはこの３人を次の食堂のスタッフとして雇ってしまいます…。
そして、その翌日、食堂で食事を終えた先生も子どもたちも、ゾンビの
ような恰好で食堂を出てきたのです…。

GeorgeとHaroldは、Krupp先生に報告に行きますが、信じてもらえません。
そして、遂に宇宙人たちと対面し、ちょっと強引だけれど、宇宙人の指が
ならされて、Tra-La-Laaaaaa!!パンツマンの登場です！

今回もおバカ加減に笑いながら読み進められます。お馴染みのパラパラ漫画
もついています。

２人のいたずらっ子が想像の世界で、学校の人々や物をモンスターに変えたり、変な事をさせたり。　いかにもアメリカの小学生がやりそうな「やんちゃ」が沢山入っています。　中級の英語学習者に特にお勧め。　ただし、２人が作った漫画の中のスペルは滅茶苦茶なので要注意です。

キャプテンアンダーパンツシリーズ第３巻。ウェッジーって言うのはパンツをお尻に食い込ませる子どもの遊びの事。今回、ミスター クラップことキャプテンアンダーパンツはエイリアンと戦います。彼は守り切れるか？ジョージとハロルドの活躍も読み逃せません。大人気（？）のフリップ・オ・ラマ（パラパラ漫画）も付いています。特に男の子は夢中になって読む事間違い無し！です。挿し絵もたくさん入っています。

We recently started reading this series with our 5-year old son. We love the variety in how the content is delivered chapter to chapter. He loves the jokes and the fliporamas. The humour is bang-on for a 5 year old and us parents have fun reading it with him too (I guess we are all still kids at heart). Hard to put it down at bedtime.
