I recently purchased this work to begin a long course of research in Hellenistic philosophy (esp. the Stoics), so I cannot speak to all the particulars, but--given the alternatives (e.g., finding all your texts in the Loebs)--this collection of Hellenistic philosophical Greek texts appears an invaluable resource, whatever its shortcomings. For it collects most the major texts (and many minor ones) from the three schools on a number of different topics.
Also, they provide an index to these Greek texts (listing all the texts by author, and giving the author's dates as well), but *note well* that this index is *not* in this volume (vol 2)--it is in the first volume (vol 1, English translations). In my view, while this volume is excellent, there is little get volume 2 by itself: iow, you will want to purchase both books. Also, while the first volume provides a little commentary, there are better intro texts to Hellenistic philosophy (e.g., A. A. Long's classic intro, under a very similar title, "Hellenistic Philosophy").
Finally, one last note: if money is a problem, one could purchase just the first volume here and then get the Greek texts either in the Loeb library or (for the classic collection of Stoic texts) in Arnim's "Stoicorum Veterum Fragmenta" (long part of the public-domain & thus available at several places, e.g., the Univ. of Toronto online library). If you are doing graduate research, you will probably have to consult Loeb or Arnim in the end anyway. However, it is undoubtedly best to purchase both volumes if you can, as you may be saved a great deal of time hunting around elsewhere.
