Eric Brown lives near Haworth. He lived in Australia until he was fourteen and has travelled extensively in the Far East. He writes full time and was a regular contributor to Interzone. He is a favourite amongst collectors.

I've always loved Eric Brown's novels and short stories. He can use SF as a means of capturIng the human condition and convey an exciting adventure story with a sobering reflection on humanity. This collection is different, being conceived in SF terms but shot through with horror. Still, whatever the lack of a feelgood factor these are the work of a master of his craft.

Here is another example of an authors earlier short stories stitched together to make a book. While all the stories take place in the same "universe", they didn't quite make a decent read for me. Basically story lines just seem to stop halfway through the book and you move on to other characters.

It's not quite as satisfying a package as a set of characters from start to finish. Otherwise, it was an OK read as far as I am concerned.
