Based on his private course for students, America’s foremost chess coach and game strategist for Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit presents an easy-to-use guide that explains invaluable "inner circle" endgame concepts for players of any level.
The endgame has always been a particularly instructive phase of chess play. It provides the perfect opportunity for understanding the potential power of each chess piece in every chess situation—from opening move to checkmate.
But the endgame is often viewed as an inaccessible area of play by most players whose experience is limited to watching championship games. Now, Pandolfini changes all of that.
With one endgame example per page and covering every endgame category in order of difficulty, Paldolfini walks you through all the basic concepts including:
--square of the pawn
--critical squares
--corresponding squares
--other new approaches not mentioned in classic references
Featuring a glossary of concepts and diagrams throughout, this volume is the not-so-secret password to a whole new realm of chess play and entertainment for the average player.

アメリカのamazon.comでも指摘されてます。

Great content, bad print
The book itself is great, with a great concept and method of teaching the end game. The book I got however seems like a bad copy of a real book. The diagrams are often too fuzzy to clearly make out which is which piece, making it a lot more challenging.
Almost looks like someone manually printed a pdf and bound it to a book, rather than a proper published book.

An excellent endgame book for lower rated players
Where to start. First let me say the binding on my original is dreadful, the book has literally fallen apart, but in fairness it has had much use. There are also many errors - errors in diagrams, errors in moves, this book needed much better proof reading. Put those things to one side and you have a really good book for lower rated to intermediate players. I've learnt a huge amount, the material is given in bite sized chunks and is very accessible. I like the book so much I bought a second copy to replace my 'broken' copy. The print quality isn't as good and the diagram printing is nowhere near the quality of my original, although they are clear enough to be useable. Overall, despite the issues it's a five star.

The print quality is horrible and the positions are quite elementary

The print quality is horrible and the positions are quite elementary. A better choice would be Dvoretsky's endgame manual or something else.

This book corrected so many misconceptions of mine.

When I first looked through this book, the diagrams looked so simple with so few pieces on the board. I thought it must be easy, and I quickly came up with my solutions without checking his on the same page. After spot checking 20 diagrams, I thought that maybe this books was for beginners. That's when I finally looked at his solutions.
Each solution started out by pointing out a few problems and stating that if White moves the way I had planned, White loses the game. He then explains some simple principles and shows how they are needed to win that position. The positions come in grows of 3, in increasing difficulty and with added concepts building on the previous.
This book seems to cover everything, from how to defeat a rook and king with a queen and king, to king and rook vs king and bishop and much more. There is no redundancy, other than that later examples build on previous ones. I had no idea there were so many important techniques in the end game, and that so many positions could definitely and easily be drawed or won with the techniques.
Now when I look at endgame diagrams, I have a very good idea how to move.
