The only book that ever made me cry - I wept so much I thought I might not stop! * Lisa Jewell, bestselling author of Watching You * A small-life-big-dreams weepie that'll have you snivelling ecstatically into your cocoa * Daily Mail * Utterly absorbing and blissfully romantic * Daily Telegraph * The Last Letter from Your Lover manages to be a both gorgeously romantic and partner-ignoringly compulsive read * Independent on Sunday * Romantic, thought-provoking tear-jerker than you won't be able to put down * Woman & Home * Jojo Moyes's poignantly romantic tales have readers streaming their way through boxes of Kleenex . . . Me Before You is compelling reading...a profound, fundamental, thought-provoking conundrum lies at the heart of the story, a huge moral dilemma, explored with great fictional finesse. Devotees of Jojo Moyes and newcomers alike will settle into this entertaining book with gusto * Sunday Express * When I finished this novel, I didn't want to review it: I wanted to reread it. Which might seem perverse if you know that for most of the last hundred pages I was dissolved in tears. Jojo Moyes, the writer who produced this emotional typhoon, knows very well that Me Before You . . . is a 'real weepy'. Moyes's story provokes tears that are redemptive, the opposite of gratuitous. Some situations, she forces the reader to recognise, really are worth crying over . . . An affair to remember * Liesl Schillinger, The New York Times Book Review * Jojo Moyes has done it again with this funny, touching tale that is impossible to put down. Make sure you have a box of tissues to hand! * Candis * Read it and weep: Heartbreak collides with humour in Jojo Moyes's Me Before You * Good Housekeeping USA * An unlikely love story . . . To be devoured like candy, between tears * O, The Oprah Magazine * Beautifully written * The Sun * Funny, surprising and heartbreaking, populated with characters who are affecting and amusing . . . This is a thought-provoking, thoroughly entertaining novel that captures the complexity of love * People * A perceptive and moving tale * The Independent * Me Before You is a page-turner that sucks the reader into caring about the fate of the heroine . . . By turns funny and moving but never predictable. The plot contains a number of surprises and raises thoughtful questions * USA Today * A compelling portrait of an unlikely couple * The Independent * Funny, believable and heartbreaking, this is sure to be the weepy of 2012 * Woman's Own * Poignant and beautifully written, this book will stay with you long after you've put it down * Star Magazine * Destined to be the novel that friends press upon each other more than any other next year, it is a tremendous example of what commercial fiction can do when in the hands of an expert. Moyes does a majestic job of conjuring a cast of characters who are charismatic, credible and utterly compelling; Lou and Will are a couple who readers will take to their hearts as they did One Day's Emma and Dex * The Independent * Heartbreaking, soul-searching and utterly compelling * Easy Living * This truly beautiful story made us laugh, smile and sob like a baby - you simply have to read it * Closer * A disarmingly moving love story . . . a lovely novel, both nontraditional and enthralling * Publishers Weekly * A compelling novel of life and death decisions and unlikely affections. It's magical and heartbreaking, but doesn't shy away from difficult emotional realities. Waterproof mascara essential * Marie Claire * Keep the tissues close as Jojo Moyes returns with Me Before You, a heartbreaking yet ultimately uplifting tale about the relationship between an embittered quadriplegic man and the carer who is trying to give him a reason to live * Good Housekeeping * Compelling, moving and absorbing. It's also a real weepie * Daily Express * At last, a new Moyes novel - and it's a triumph. Her story of love blossoming in the most unlikely of ways packs such an emotional punch, you'll need a box of tissues * Elle * When I finished this novel, I didn't want to review it: I wanted to reread it . . . An affair to remember * The New York Times Book Review * Another powerful love story. A deftly plotted narrative populated with likeable engaging characters . . . a bittersweet story about love, learning and letting go. It's a tremendous read and I loved it * Daily Mail * Poignant . . . heartfelt . . . Me Before You, at it's heart, is about two people who properly listen to each other; it is something good * The Independent on Sunday * Arm yourself with tissues for this incredibly emotional bestseller * Best Special Series * You might have seen the film, but we promise the book is better - you won't be able to forget quirky Lou's joruney with Will as she becomes his caregiver and their relationship blossoms. You will be needing tissues * Living North * This life-affirming tearjerker more than deserves its recognition as one of the most memorable books of the last decade * Woman & Home *

What is to live for you?
This is apparently a sad love story, but it has provoked us to consider how to end our lives with dignity. Of course, helping suicide is not permitted, though. When Will is quadriplegic with one arm slightly movable caused by an accident at the age of 29, he is always suffering from terrible pain and infection. A successful business person into a wheelchaired lifewith a 24-hour care. Lou was a last 6-month carer, and both of them fell in love. Lou stayed with him until his last minute when he chose his way of death. He thinks that to live is to control and decide everything by himself and get going with responsibility.

Gosh, Jojo Moyes is great, in that she could come up with this kind of wonderful plot.
People might say a mere love story like this doesn’t deserve academic attention. This love story is good and amazing, though, and if you want to read a great one, I think this is the very book you’re looking for. The most foundational back ground of this story is that Will, the hero, is disabled, and Lou, the heroine, is a care-giver girl. I’ll leave all else in the story to your imagination. Here, if you say you can be satisfied with such imagination only, with what little information you have, I don’t blame you for that, but I think it’s better to read the actual story.
I’m a middle-aged man, probably in love, and when I read this book, always did simulations, assuming the girl I love ended up in the same condition as that of Will. Through this method, I was able to go through many what you might call "mock adversities" in the story. This is a way you, too, can try yourself about how intense your love for someone is.
I enjoyed this novel very much.

i was reluctant to read this after all the hype about the movie. I used to love romance novels but my interest in them has greatly faded in recent years. However, this book exceeded all my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone. It was an enjoyable read that I couldn't put down.

I would rate this book a five out of five, this book was very well written and kept me engaged at all times. The story is about a girl named “Lou” Louisa Clark who lives in Small-town England, in her little village home with her Mum Josephine, Father Bernard, her Granddad and her sister Katrina “Treena” and her son Thomas. She loves clothes and has a very weird style that nobody understands but her. She works at a cafe ‘Buttered Bun’ where she makes a great cup of tea, and dates a guy named Patrick. He is a trainer and athlete, who runs every day and competes a lot.
One day at work, she walked a customer out and her boss Frank walked to the door and flipped the sign from open to closed. Louisa was confused, asked Frank why he did that. Frank explained that business wasn’t doing well and how he needed to close down. He gave Lou three months of wages, and she left and walked home full of gloom knowing that her family didn’t have much money and they were gonna question what happened, and worry. She went to the Job Center the next day to meet with Syed. She tried a lot of different jobs and none of them suited her. She was about to give up, and Syed looked at his computer and a job listing for ‘Care assistant position’. Syed said it would be for only six months, and was asking her some questions, and if she would be willing to do this. Lou said “Yes!” she was very excited and was ready to go have her interview the next day. She went home and told her parents she would have an interview at Granta House which is on the other said of the castle at the Traynor’s tomorrow.
Her family was so excited for her, and her mum wanted her to wear a suited skirt that was too tight and her hair pulled up in a bun. She didn’t want to wear it but she did anyway. She walked to the bus stop go on the bus and arrived at the Traynors. When she got there, a nurse that was wearing scrubs was leaving from her interview. Lou got to the doorway and a voice spoke, “Hi you must be Miss Clark.” She said, “Yes, Louisa but you can call me Lou.” The lady said, “All right, do come in, I’m Camilla Traynor” Mrs. Traynor asked Louisa questions and told her she got the job! Louisa was introduced to Will Traynor, a 34-year-old male, who was hit by a motorcycle and now deals with quadriplegia which is complete loss his chest and below including his legs, and that is who she will be caring for. Another male was in the room named Nathan. He is a nurse that does all the physical stuff Will needs.
A few weeks went by and Lou and Will barely spoke, and a few weeks after that Louisa overhears his sister Georgina and his mother talking about how Dignitas, a Swiss clinic that would help Will end his life. Camilla explained to Georgina that he gave his parents six months to live, and Louisa realized that she was basically on suicide watch. So when her workday was done she left and handed in a letter of resignation without an explanation. A few hours after Louisa had been home Camilla arrived at her house and they talked in her car. Camilla begged her to come back and try to change Will’s mind. So Louisa started doing some research and wanted to start going on outings with Will under a budget. She pitched the idea to his parents and she said if they didn’t agree she would quit. So, Will, Nathan, and Louisa went to all different places like a horserace, violin concert, etc. Their last outing was a 10 day trip to Mauritius. One night, he explained to Louisa that he had given his parents six months and that it was time. Louisa cried so hard because Will and her had begun to fall in love. When they got home Louisa got off the plane and left and never looked back because she thought she had changed his mind. Will repacked his bag and they left for Switzerland. Louisa surprisingly went to Switzerland a day or so later.
I would highly recommend this book to really anyone in 8th or 9th grade and above even if it is not an ending people hope for. I think you need to be able to wrap your mind around some of the things in the book. Jojo Moyes used cussing to express the characters feelings. I think the book is on the best sellers list because it is such a tearjerker, and people need to know that not all things end in a happy ending.
