マーベルコミックのイベント「ハウスオブＭ」
スパイダーマン、ファンタスティック・フォーらにつづいて丁寧に
ハルクまでもがイベントの渦に巻き込まれている。
他の作品と比べるとやや地味か。
アメコミファンなら揃えるべきか？

I had been away from the comic world for a long time. Enough to ask when did the Scarlett Witch get these powers? I was attracted to the plot line where she goes crazy and when the Avengers and X-Men meet to discuss her fate; QuickSilver talks Magneto into saving her. She uses her powers to redefine the world where Mutants are the dominant species and regular man is oppressed.

This edition is about the Hulk. I especially liked the idea of him finding the Aborigine and joining them. He hopes to find peace from the world but the Mutants come calling.

The Hulk becomes the reluctant hero and defends the regular people. What I did like was the humor in the story. For example, the Hulks viewpoint on the famous Sydney opera house made me laugh.

The ending of the story made me go "ok?" but rereading; it suits Banner.

Some have suggested it's not the best of the stories but I like it. However, I will say that I have not read the stories mentioned in the other reviews.

Well, as much as House of M fizzed into nothingness without anybody really caring too much, at least some of the books gave some great diversionary storylines for some of Marvel's mightiest; the Iron Man book in particualr is well worth picking up.

In the House of M, Bruce Banner finds himself the welcomed guest of a group of Aborigines in the Australian outback, working on controlling his rage far from the Mutant rule present elsewhere in the world...that is, until (against Magneto's warnings) Exodus goes looking for him...

What follows is Hulk's rise to power (with much smashing along on the way) to become the president of Austrailia in much the same way as he did in Planet Hulk (though without gathering as many cuts and bruises). He does this with a few allies, one of which is Scorpion, and she's just as great a supporting character here as in the current Marvel Universe (surely she'd make for an awesome solo series?).

The art, shared between Jorge Lucas & Adam Kubert is lively and lends itself to some great scenes of destruction, and Peter David's script bares some great, tongue-in-cheek one liners; my favourite of the whole book sees Hulk, as prime minister, getting frustrated with all the red-tape of being a bureaucracy: "Hulk Smash puny paperwork!!!"

The story has very little impact on the Marvel Universe or any of the other tales in House of M, but it's enjoyable enough, clips along at a good pace and only falls at the last hurdle where the events of the last chapter in the run detour completely from House of M with no explanation...the gap really needed to be filled in with an epilogue maybe with a couple of pages from the main House of M book...but then that's a good reason to get that too.

Overall, a nice purchase. Not essential, but it certainly won't make you mad...sorry about that one...

This TPB contains 3 Hulk issues taking place in the House of M reality, and one issue after the return to our known reality.

It is a great tie-in to the Marvel House-of-M event. The art is fantastic, and Peter David has some great lines for the hulk as well ("Can't stand opera", ROFL).

If you liked House of M, get this one, too.
