Thought it would be interesting...

I orginally bought this with low expectations and was still disappointed. All it is is little known fairy tales with characters that KINDA look like some of the X-men. No real mention of their powers, personalities, etc. Would not recommend.

A good read

I enjoyed this book more than spiderman fairy tales. It is the same concept, four individual stories all based on fables from around the world.
This book starts off strong, with a god story and art about a boy with a peach pit in his eye (who happens to shoot ruby blasts when its removed) who by his own will helps the emperor.
The second story is of the eagle and tortoise, who grew up in different circumstance but became friends, and despite there differences have been friends ever since. It wasnt until a few pages into this story when i realised the x-men connection. I really liked the art for this book.
The third story lets it down a little. It has something to do with rogue having the ability to speak to the dead, and emma frost and her hellfire club taking advantage of that to raise the dead. Its not badly written or drawn but just feels like a regular x-men story.
The last is a mix of various european fairy tales, focusing on jean grey as sleeping beauty. This book does end strongly as the writing for this is more emotional and real and less cliché like a lot of the other fairy tales can feel at time.
Well recommended to any x-men fans who want a change
