著者について

MARGARET WEIS and TRACY HICKMAN published their first novel in the Dragonlance Chronicles, Dragons of Autumn Twilight, in 1984. Over twenty years later they are going strong as partners -- over thirty novels as collaborators -- and alone or together with other co-authors have published over a hundred books, including novels, collections of short stories, role-playing games, and other game products. Hickman is also the inspiration for an upcoming "Tracy Hickman Presents" line of Dragonlance novels for Wizards of the Coast, while Weis is in the midst of her own Dark Disciple trilogy. Weis is also the President of Sovereign Press, which publishes Dragonlance game material as well as many other game products.

5つ星のうち5.0 Wonderful gap-filler, true to the spirit of the first books.

I was so disappointed of the turn of events in "The Summer Flame", so angry at the authors and the editors, that I left the fandom altogether, and was able to cherish only the past, the timeline roughly up to Palin's Test. So it was a pleasure, but also challenge, to encounter this book. It's a gap-filler of the "Chronicles" story, set immediately after "The Dragons of the Autumn Twilight", a bridge towards "Dragons of the Winter Night". I asked myself: Are they able to return back, and keep the flavour of the story, the whole atmosphere, the same as the the original "Chronicles"? The answer is yes, for about 90% percent. It's a delightful novel, joyful to read. I am a bit dubious about Tanis' lack of faith at the beginning, new doubts about the gods - after the finale of "The Autumn Twilight" it seems a bit out of place, but, well, people doubt all the time, even irrationaly, and Tanis is master of the art... But most of the adventures are wonderful, interesting, explaining, the characters true to themselves. I am glad and feel lucky to find this book!

I read the chronicles when I was 18 and have read many books in the series since, now 43 and finding the time to read again the lost chronicles is like meeting up with old friends, a great read and my only wish would be to see Dragonlance given the same Hollywood attention that Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings has received, I'd recommend these stories as a must read for all fantasy lovers.
