For a new DM, I find this collection quite fulfilling. I agree with most people and think the page count for what you pay is a bit slim. Overall though, the content inside is through-and-through entertaining/informative/ and to say the least, fun to run.

Since I play casually and do not over indulge in all the lore and back stories in the D&D world, I find it fascinating that this supplement seems to try and immerse me in a grand adventure.

and that, is my 2 cents - for now.

This is essentially a compilation of adventures from Dungeon Magazine. There is some good content here but I would have liked to have had more adventures I could just drop into my Nentir Vale campaign.

Good stuff in here--both this and the Dragon annual are not "must-haves" by any means, but the quality of the articles is very high, and the ideas can be easily adapted with a little elbow-grease to fit into any campaign arc. If you don't use the Dungeon magazine or Dragon magazine archives on the Wizards website, then this is a good taste of some of the cream of the crop of those articles. My one wish is that there was a bit more variety--there are a couple heroic tier, a couple paragon tier and, I believe (my copy is not in my hands) one epic tier. So, four stars instead of five.

i bought this as my original goal was to be a 4e completinist. i'm forty books to that goal but the last few have gotten me less interested. at the moment i've given up my quest for completion or at least put it on hold. this book only had a handful of quests the majority look very bland. the only really cool one was the eberron quest.
