The subtitle of the book is "Key Concepts," and while it does introduce the reader to some concepts and issues, it does so in somewhat confusing fashion. I never really got a sense of the overarching organization of the text, if in fact there is one, as the chapters seem to be self-standing rather than sequential. The writing is generally clear and the author does tie the concepts to real-world examples, though some of the "case studies" are more engaging than others. There are many references to other texts on the topic. Overall, an OK text but not the first title to read on the subject of globalization.
