An excellent source book featuring patterns from the worlds of textiles, paintings, manuscripts and architecture across the centuries. Diana Newall completed her doctoral studies at the Courtald Institute of Art. She is author of Appreciating Art (2008) and co-author of Art History: The Basics. She was the Kostantinos Leventis Research Fellow at the Open University, and continues to work both there and as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Kent.
Christina Unwin is a graphic designer, illustrator and archaeologist based in the UK. She is a graduate in archaeology from University College London and a postgraduate in design from the London College of Printing. She is the co-author of Boudica: Iron Age Warrior Queen (Bloomsbury Academic, 2006) and illustrator of Londinium: A Biography (Bloomsbury Academic, 2018).
