The title story is awesome, the other tales are your run-of-the-mill '40s SF. Which isn't bad, mind you, but nothing exceptional IMHO.
Sturgeon's Law is, after all, true.

Killdozer!: Volume III: The Complete Stories of Theodore Sturgeon ペーパーバック – 1999/11/28
Killdozer! is the third volume of a series of the complete short stories from Theodore Sturgeon's career. It contains a few of his best and most famous short stories: "Medusa", "Killdozer!" and "Mewhu's Jet." The series editor Paul Williams has dug into the background of each story, and come up with a lot of interesting lore about Sturgeon. Especially of interest in this volume is the alternative original ending to "Mewhu's Jet."

レビュー
"Historically, the Complete Sturgeon is one of the most important reissues in years. In terms of reading, this is a goldmine both for those already familiar with Sturgeon's work and for a new generation of readers ready for something real."
-Strange Worlds Magazine
"Theodore Sturgeon has become a kind of patron saint of SF short story writers. His fiction demonstrated a love of humanity and an understanding of human emotion unparalleled in the field. At the time of his death in 1985, no short story writer was held in so high a regard."
-David Brin, author of Heaven's Reach

Some of the stories from the 1940s. Contains the famous "Killdozer", and "Mewhu's Jet", which contains resemblances to E. T. Some of the stories in this collection cannot be categorized as sci-fi, but nevertheless are quite nice.

A visionary and a great humanist.

Theodore Sturgeon was not only one of the great science fiction writers, he was one of the great writers.
This collection shows him just revving up; there are pure science fiction stories, like Medusa, but, for me, one of the best stories in this collection, and, possibly, the best anti war story I have ever read is Alas Poor Yorrick; it's two pages long, and it shows a writer with a deep love of humanitywith all it's flaws.

Good value. The 'bulldozer' theme is a recurring one though.
