I enjoyed this book a great deal. As a non-analyst interested in the history, theory, and practice of psychotherapy, I found it accessible, insightful, and suffused with genuine humility and curiosity. The depiction of the analytic space -- its challenges and triumphs -- is convincing and presented in such a way that one feels one can really learn something from it. I recommend this book and look forward to reading more of Casement's work.
