 The reviews on here crack me up. This book is everything a Cthulhu lover would enjoy. Gory yeah, disturbing yeah but what were you expecting when you bought this. The images are well done and organized. I’m glad i added this to my collection. Buyer beware if you don’t know anything about H.P. Lovecraft go look it up before you buy this and leave a stupid review.

Wer die Geschichten von Lovecraft gerne liest und gleichzeitig gerne malt oder die Kunst des Malens schätzt, für den ist dieses Buch genau richtig. Ist ein Geschenk für meinen Freund. Dieser steht auf die Geschichten und auf die darin beschriebenen Umgebungen und Landschaften und sucht immer gerne neue Vorlagen zum Malen auf Leinwand.

This is a gorgeous compilation of artwork both based directly on, or in the spirit of, Lovecraft's writings. The only criticism I can make is there there's little or nothing related to "At the Mountains of Madness." But the range of artwork here will give shape to many dark shadows from the Mythos.

The Art of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos edited by Pat Harrigan & Brian Wood [Fantasy Art - review no. 0933 - November 10, 2021]

This oversized book, 9" x 11", features within it's 191 pages approximately 400 painting, the vast majority in color, that have all been inspired, in general, by the fiction of H.P. Lovecraft. The editors allude to that fact in the introduction. Nonetheless fans of direct Lovecraft story related art will not be entirely disappointed. I found some of the "Innsmouth" inspired artwork quite brilliant in evoking that dreaded Massachusetts coastal town.

Regrettable I found a number of the painting too grisly for my taste, but that's a personal opinion. The appendix provides a helpful short biography of 74 of the represented artist. Each picture is accompanied by a title and artist name.
