Novice knitters only need to know a few stitches to make a collection of dolls with personality and wardrobes to match. To begin, the practical knitting and sewing know-how section illustrates the simple garter and stockinette stitches used to assemble the dolls. The knitting patterns in this book are of some cute (or strange looking dolls depending on your tastes). There are many outfits to dress and individualize them too.
I’ve looked for this book in my public library but couldn’t find. I looked here on Amazon and found this used one at a great price and in beautiful condition

My mother and I each made one of these dolls for my then 6 year old daughter.
She has had them for over a year and plays with them all the time. I think in these days of mass production it can really make a child feel loved to have something made just for them. She has so much fun with these dolls and unlike her barbie's they have been given names and have there own personalities. They are more like companions than toys.
These dolls are charming and so fun to make. I actually knit them in the round and it goes so much faster.
My son loves them too so I am thrilled to see she has made a second book with patterns for a boy doll. My mom is making him the pirate for Xmas.

Diese Puppen sind zauberhaft und endlich mal nicht Typ "Omma" und niedlich, sondern Hipp, Cool und Kreativ. Die Anleitung ist sehr detailliert, allerdings auf Deutsch nicht immer leicht zu realisieren: 4zwirniges Garn gibts hier nur bei Regina Sockenwolle, Stricknadelstärken beginnen hier bei 2,5! Aber genau das Improvisieren, sich von den professionellen Bildern anregen lassen zu eigenen Entwürfen und Stylings, genau das schafft dieses herrliche Handarbeitsbuch.
Respekt, die Designerin ist Profi, das Buch ist mehr etwas für Fortgeschrittene, die neben Stricken auch noch nähen können
