Very beautiful book with all show information about ties history and lovely colour pictures. I think this book is unique, old and rare about ties fashion and maybe I thought this is ties, bow ties and cravat evolution of fashion every century. Good book and pleased with it. Not many books about ties so I kept my book for long time, worth it. Good delivery on time with protect packages.

The book of Ties (original large edition) is a beautifully illustrated, informative book that interestingly chronicles the origin, construction, purpose, use, and importance of the necktie. Understanding the history of this indispensable badge of station in the male wardrobe really adds something to your selection and use of pattern in determining your look and applying the capstone to one's highest form of self expression next to language itself.

While the book does have some dated and novelty photos, these too are valuable in determining for yourself "classic" versus "period" pieces which might prevent you from years from now having those old photos of yourself that make you cringe when they are rediscovered. I learned invaluable information on evaluating construction quality and handmade features as well as classic tie categories, and what to look for when considering a tie for purchase. Solid information that otherwise had to be gathered from several different sources.

While not one of my top 10 books on men's wear it did eventually find a place in my library as I revisited this book several times to review its plentiful information. One item of note: I have read and handled quite a few copies of this book and they all share a very weak, even fragile binding so be careful when picking up a used copy. A lovingly used copy from a personal collection, perhaps, but skip used library copies.
