アダルト商品というカテゴライズは可愛そうだ。
ギー・ブルダンの写真は暴力的であり、美しい。
確かに女の裸の写真はあるが、エロの表現ではない。
マネキンであるモデル達を、美しい洋服を、物質社会を風刺する。
何となく岡崎京子を思わせる写真である。
女の子はキュートだが、毒を持っている。
マドンナもこの写真に影響を受けていると言う話だが、
どうなんでしょう。

This book was bought for me as a present.Although second hand it arrived in really good condition.Bourdin was a great photographer.Much of his work reminds me of paintings.A real enjoyable book.

samuel bourdin, der sohn des französischen modefotografen GUY BOURDIN [1928-1991], - er war der erste, der, als sein vater verstorben war, eine ausstellung zuließ, welche einen überblick über die wesentlichen teile des schaffens seines vaters zuließ. der hatte seit 1955 im wettstreit mit helmut newton in der VOGUE (die ihm immer zwanzig seiten zur verfügung stellte) den surrealismus in die kommerzielle werbe- und mode-fotografie einziehen lassen - gewürzt mit einer ordentlichen prise dubioser erotik und krimineller phantasie. viele bilder lassen einen voraufgegangenen (frauen-)mord assoziieren, blut auf der erde, abgerissene schuhe, pistolen. in der nähe der schamgegend tauchen auf den fotos in metaphorischer anspielung die verschiedensten blumensorten, feuerzünglein oder schäferhundschädel auf. guy bourdin hatte mit einem studium der malerei begonnen, war aber, dies abbrechend, 1948 armee-fotograf im senegal - anschließend begann er in paris tiere mit aufgeschlitzten bäuchen zu fotografieren. vielleicht hat die früh aufgezwungene kriegsreportage die heile welt in ihm zerbrechen lassen. seine fotografien wurden aber dadurch nicht schlechter. zunehmend wichen die ereignislosen minimalistischen landschafts-aufnahmen (50er jahre) den dramatischen, erotik, sex und gewalt herbeifantasierenden arbeiten (70er jahre) in "vogue france", "vogue hommes", "marie claire" und "20 ans" oder für den schuhfabrikanten charles jourdan. ausstellungen organisierte sohn samuel in london [victoria and albert museum], paris [centre pour la photographie et l'image], düsseldorf [NRW-forum] und tokio [in bälde] ...

Anyone who ever was impressed by the spectacularly original and outrageously suggestive fashion photographs of the notorious French and Italian editions of Vogue from the red-hot seventies....will savor this collection of legendary images by the twisted visionary master, Guy Bourdin. Mr. Bourdin, alongside Mr. Helmut Newton, changed what was acceptable as images to sell luxurious, overpriced designer products. They introduced imagry inspired by pornography, violent crime scenes, surrealism, pop art and film noir to high-fashion magazines and started a trend that will never go out.....even though the versions recreated today no longer have the style, taste, artistry or originality of these masters.....ironic, considering both these master image makers were considered "depraved and tasteless" by many subscription-cancellers at their peak of editorial dominance. A superb example of a most sophisticated, well read and researched visual artist venturing way
off-road into questionable inspiration, but always ending up with a fantastically graphic and chic image....that successfully sold a hell of a lot of designer goods.

This sample of Guy Bourdin's work is an interesting glimpse of some of his photographs. Little known in America, Bourdin was well known in the world of fashion photography and often copied by well known, popular photographers. This selection offers a taste of his work and a hint of what will follow in further releases of his photographs.
