Tony Bennett definitely got it right when he said this recording was perfect! I've long been an aficionado of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Mahalia Jackson and so on, but have only just discovered Rosemary Clooney - and after hearing this CD, I wish it hadn't taken me so long.
There's not a single track on this disc that's less than wonderful. The band is as tight as a drum, with some wonderful solos from all the players, and Rosemary Clooney is just superb - clear, clean, expressive and obviously having a good time as you can hear the joy in her voice as she sings. Marvellous!

This recording is more of an upbeat rendition of several favorites by Rosemary Clooney. Several selections i.e. "Everything Happens To Me" are more effective in the ballad format. It's a matter of personal preference.
This is a wonderful CD. It was Rosemary's first for Concord Records, and marked her return to recording after some very difficult times. She sounds great, is backed by top-notch jazz musicians who back her on some great songs. If you don't have it in your Clooney collection you should order it right now.
