When George Frederick Handel wrote "Joy to the World," which contains the immortal line "Let heaven and nature sing," he probably didn't mean it literally. But Meowy Christmas takes him at his word as Cheese Puff, Max, Sprocket, Binky, Clara, Cueball, Graymer, Twizzler, Petunia--and the occasional dog--meow and bark and let their animal nature sing 20 (count 'em 20!) holiday favorites. You'll be awestruck, dumbstruck, and struck yet again hearing these felines "sing" and, ah, scat their way through the usual round-up of holiday music, relying on a beat box and different arrangements, including a folkish, harmonica-driven version of the Handel hymn. You're bound to find your own favorites here (while trying to figure out how in the heck mastermind Mike Spalla pulled this off), but you're definitely bound to be roused from your comfort and joy by "What Child Is This/Hava Nagila" that trades kitty meows and doggy barks back and forth in a spirited ecumenical dance of the four-legged. I got this when our girls were little and our granddaughters enjoy it just as much. So funny and endearing. Very clever arrangements using the voices of real cats, and a few dogs too.

Can't understand why this isn't more commonly purchased! It's hilarious at first hearing, and gets better the more times you hear it. Even the most ardent of cat lovers couldn't listen to the whole thing in one go, so save it for a quiet moment, play a few carols when you're feeling down & it'll cheer you no end. I expect the dog version is just as good. Very clever, the tunes well put together and imaginative and it arrived in one piece - very unusual for delivery services in Argyll! If you love cats, get this, you won't regret it!

Falls mich einmal der Winterblues in der Vorweihnachtszeit erwischt, höre ich mir diese CD an und ein Dauergrinsen ist mir ins Gesicht gemeißelt.

Die singenden Katzen kann man durchaus als abgefahren im grausamsten Sinne bezeichnen, aber für aufgeschlossene Menschen mit eisernen Hang zu skurrilem Humor, die wirklich mal alles gehört haben wollen, ist diese CD genau das Richtige.
Auch um die Umgebung in schallendes Gelächter oder schier nicht enden wollendes Kopfschütteln zu versetzen ist sie bestens geeignet.

Einfach Wunderbar!

Als klitzekleines Manko könnte ich anführen, dass ein paar der performten Lieder eher unbekannt sind (mir jedenfalls), da sie in Deutschland weniger verbreitet sind. Man könnte also bei dem ein oder anderem Song den Wiedererkennungswert vermissen - aber schließlich will hier ja niemand mitsingen, außer vielleicht die festlich gestimmte Miez.
