I really enjoyed listening to this CD back in the eighties, and I mean I liked every cut. Of course the CD I had back then is long gone, but whenever I thought of it I would think that I would like to have it again for nostalgic reasons as well as because I don't hear much nowadays that can compare with it. So one day I looked into buying a copy, thinking I would probably pay at the most about 10 to15 bucks. Lo and behold, I discover that this joint is hard to find, and the ones out there are going for over 20 bucks a copy! I must not have been the only one who liked reminiscing over the jams from "back in the day". So I forked over the 20 clams and now I'm transporting myself to the early eighties every now and then. You can find most of the cuts from this album on others, but not all; so you have to decide for yourself if it's worth paying the extra money for. For me, I bought it, so I guess it was worth it, but too bad that it's a sign of the times that you find yourself in this position seemingly all the time. Sorry, but back in the day they came on cassette tape, not CDs
This is Third World at their height,Stevie Wonder played a hand in production and writing on this selection, this is one of the groups greatest recordings, and one of Reggae's greatest recordings.I was watching T.V. back in 82'(it migh have been 81'?) and I tuned into the Canadian Comedy show called "Second City",that's when I caught the live performance of Thirld World performing "Try Jah Love"..it totaly blew me away, infact Third World got me hook into Reggae long before my musical experience with Bob Marley. It's a mystery to all fans why Sony music has'nt re released this masterpiece?.(There must be some unreleased tracks that are in the vaullts/w all the double classic release stuff the music industry produces they must have really dropped the bomb on this one!)Music collectors are already paying big bucks for this older disc copy. The reason this disc has not been reissued by Sony music speaks volume about the priorities of major record labels to feed the masses with quality reissues ,that have been quality remastered.
Between this album ( over-priced on cd) "You've Got The Power"and "Sense of Purpose" , Third World is at their prime. Anybody that loves sweet harmony and rockin' Regaee can't go wrong owning these two albums. Excellent music played exceptionally well.
This album is a treasure. You will never hear nothing like this again. we r n a cycle of spiritual awakening. Third World was right on it! Im glade 2 have my own copy. Its a spirit charge for the spiritual. Sony knew that but its toooo late. The gods has risen!!!CD MUST HAVE!!!
