NHKでも放送され、NHKバージョンにはあの方も出て、唯一、ディラン以外の歌を歌唱していましたが、このDVDにはすっぽり抜けています。

自身が観客の不寛容と悪意に晒された経験をもつディラン自信がオコナーにどれほどの共感を寄せたか、そして単にナツメロを聞きに来ただけとも思える大観衆にどれほどの巨大な絶望を感じたかは彼自身が語らずの姿勢を貫く限り伺い知る由もない、ライブ終了時、ニール・ヤング唯一人と握手するディランの胸中を思えば彼の徒労感のとほうもない大きさが分かろうというもの、おそらく常と変わらぬぼろぼろの衣装でやってきたニール・ヤングだけに「真の仲間」として共感を感じたと思われる

大勢の大物ゲスト達がディランにトリビュートする様はまるで音楽の幕の内弁当の様です。そのゲスト全員が素晴らしい。出演者達のテンションがキープされた奇跡的なライブだと思います。なお、本盤のアナログはうんとプレミアがついてるそうです。

遥か何年も前にNHKBSかなにかで見てカセットテープに落としてビデをも録画してカビが生えて見ることも聞くこともできなくなったあまりにも懐かしいラストワルツと双璧をなす作品です。
今更かいって云う感じですがじじいにはちょうど良い。

Bob Dylan's songs are timeless and these live reinterpretations are fantastic especially the whole cast doing "Knockin' on Heaven's Door".

A coupe of downers. First, Bob himself, never the best voice in rock on this he sounds like he is an imitator doing a comic version of Bob singing his songs. Then Chrissie Hynde, yes a great singer but "I shall be released" is one of the best protest songs ever written...could you not have sounded like you had something to protest about...or maybe you felt being in a prison cell was probably quite a pleasant thing to do.

Tracy Chapman. Awesome. Richie Havens. Better than awesome.

Who else could do "All along the Watch Tower" nowadays other than Neil Young and boy can he do it.

A volte queste sbornie di artisti forzati ad essere reclutati per queste ricorrenze non funzionano. Qui invece ci sono delle esibizioni veramente riuscite. Veramente bravi quasi tutti, un bellissimo live.

This one is just great. Lives up to all expectations too.
With a slick 'house band' (Booker T & The MGs plus assorted friends) providing the backing as a mostly stellar collection of guests work through an array of Dylan's best known songs for an appreciative audience... How could it fail?
Well it doesn't, even though some contributions inevitably shine brighter than others. It's a good listen from start to finish.
And that's despite Bob himself appearing late on, determined to wreck all that's gone before with a couple of mutated renditions of his own!
Haha. Gotta love the guy though. I'm sure he knew what he was doing (and what it would sound like). If anyone is entitled to 'reinterpret' this material then it's him - five stars - highly recommended.

This is the most consistently "borrowed" CD I own. In fact I just re-purchased it because my original copy from many years ago was "borrowed" and not returned. Even though I downloaded it to ITunes and listen to it mostly on my IPod, I enjoy it so much that I want the original CD in my collection...not just a copy. What's so great about this CD? Well,the talent roster reads like a Who's Who of rock and country legends...from 1992. Legends who were great then and are still great now. It's not just Dylan....its Dylan sung live by Neil Young, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Willie Nelson, Ron Wood, June Carter & Johnny Cash, John Mellencamp, Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed, Eddie Vedder, Tracy Chapman, Tom Petty, Johnny Winter, Richie Havens etc., etc. This recording is a classic, a virtual museum of music greats at the top of their form singing songs by one of the greatest song writers of our era. There is not a bad track on this 2 CD set. Buy this CD. You won't be sorry.
