This is now one of my favorite albums from him. I feel it perfectly combines his traditional style with just a bit more of that funky side of his. It's fun, interesting an unexpected, yet still gives you the Harry we all know and love!
Where to start. Forget HCjr as you know him, this is pure self indulgence, and it works. I have known this album since 1994 and still love it today, I have even played some of the tracks on my radio show. Obscure would probably cover this selection of songs that take you to the heart of New Orleans. Whenever I listen to this I feel like I am in the studio listening to a live unplanned jam. Its a real demonstration of musicianship that you rarely get from an album.
Ok, so thats my personnal feelings, what about the songs? A bit Pink Floyd in places, Jazzy, Soulful there is even a very funky down tempo instrumental that drags you into a very humid dusty downtown New Orleans and back again.
One of the lyrics states ".......you got to be born on the banks of the missisippi" no you haven't, just buy this album, listen to it and be transported into musical bliss.
This is a good album. I heard him sing once, and really liked it. I purchased this item just for giggles, and was very happy. He is worth the purchase for an all across the board entertainer.
