Although Hartford is best known for his 70's albums, he did great work in subsequent decades. Though not particularly experimental, he creates a unique sound during this time period that is always beautiful to listen to
I had to buy it as a CD because it is not available as mp3. I think the instrumental Ohio River Rag makes it worth it. Living In The Mississippi Valley is good too.
I could listen to this repeatedly, for hours on end. However, I was surprised to not see the "Dot Records" imprint nor any reference to its release on that label.
