中学生の時に。文化祭で隣のクラスなんだけど、ミュージカルみたいな出し物やった時に流れた曲で。ずーっと頭から離れず。オールディーズだとばっかり思ってたのよね。ニャニャニャニャーナ😻とか。懐かしかったね(笑）何か深夜番組だかで、昔流れてましたよね。だけど。ヤッパリ。一曲目ですよ。ブレイクアウェイ、最&高で～す。毎日聴いてますよ。このお値段でこれはお得でしたね！

カースティ マッコールの「They Don't Know」のカバー曲が、とても素晴らしいと思いますね。他にはあまりヒットがないけど、曲としてはいい曲が多いです。買って正解のCDでした。

このアルバムはメトロというレコード会社が出した、トレーシーウルマンのBESTとして、数ある中で一番最新のもの！らしいです...
心配していた音質も差し障りないくらいにきれいに収録されています。
BESTではあるものの、やっぱりHITな数曲ばかりが目立ちますが、トレーシーウルマンのボーカリストとしての魅力は堪能できるのではないでしょうか？この時代のトレーシーのPOPなCuteさは個人的に大好きです。

I'm back to the office next week and back to the office approved radio playing very quietly. but, after a slow start, I re-found my love for the 80's music I grew up with. Remember that video, you know the one where Tracey is married to Sir Paul McCartney? I had that album, loved every track. I miss the turntable and sitting on the floor listening, but did I ever love hearing all those songs again, and not just the one. I might not be able to bring this back into the office, but it'll be in the car on the drive in!

Tracey Ullman est surtout connue pour être une chanteuse anglaise qui sortit en 1983 le méga-tube "Breakaway". Elle est dotée d'une voix acidulée et nasillarde dont les intonations peuvent être rapprochées aisément de celles de Cyndi Lauper. Comme cette dernière, elle peut passer pour une hurluberlue ou une extravagante (sa voix cassée, ses coiffures délirantes,..). Moi, je la ferais passer pour une Cyndi Lauper au rabais ("You caught me out") ou pour une Blondie du pauvre ("Presence dear" composé par Debbie Harry qu'elle reprend plus vrai que nature), ou encore pour une Kim Wilde mal fagottée ("Shattered"). Elle peut chanter du rock'n'roll à la sauce poppy ("Bad motorcycle"), du Madness ("Mr Guy"), du Shangri-Las ("Give him a great big kiss"), du Waitresses ("I know what boys like") ou même de la power pop ("Candy"). Cette compilation est absolument parfaite pour (re)découvrir cette chanteuse, elle rassemble tous ses singles ("Breakaway", "They don't know", "Move over darling", "My guy", "Sunglasses", "Helpless", "Terry") sortis entre 1983 et 1985. 21 morceaux agréables à écouter mais qui ont dans l'ensemble assez mal vieilli, et qui permettent de se remémorer des 80's, de notre jeunesse et d'une musique new-wave qui dominait alors les charts.
