This album that I ordered is a X-mas gift for my husband who just found out he has ALS. He used to play electric bass but about a year ago he couldn't play a bar cord and now he can't play at all. All he does is listen to music. His album collection includes a huge variety of music but 25 years ago we fell in love to Salif Kieta's Folon. This isn't Folon but it is 1 of the 1st recordings still found in vinyl form. I hope he likes it. I appreciate the excellent condition it arrived in. No scratches and the jacket is still perfect. Thank you for your care in providing this album.

This Album is not very well known amongst Salif Keita followers in the US because it was released too far ahead of his rise to fame on the US world music scene. However, it has the best of the best African musicians (including the "king" of 6/8 rhythms - Brice Wassy on drums). The majority of the songs are in 6/8 time with brilliantly lyrical and subtle syncopation and rhythmic counterpoint. It is too bad that it is out of print. Oh well, get it while you can.
