I heard about this album about 12 years ago. Looking & searching and finally finding it, I'm completely satisfied with it. It's great to hear Maysa live during her peak years. She's still a fantastic vocalist, but this was the treat I knew it would be. Also, it was great to hear her sing the couple selections she didn't originally record, putting her own thing down on songs I already like. Just like she does with her solo work. I'm a true, dyed-in-the-wool fan and this, along with a couple DVDs of concerts, will hold me over until I can afford to one day SEE this group live.
If you think Incognito is just a studio band think again. This live offering captures a tight, energetic, perfectly balanced band having a great time in Japan. Incognito fans will appreciate the ample song list loaded with favorites, but fear not; this isn't a boring greatest hits concert. There is a jam-session feel on several of the cuts and Maysa really shines with her own versions of Roots and Everday. The whole thing is mixed beautifully just as you'd expect from Bluey. Love it!
I felt this was a good album, I really enjoyed the horn section and what can you say about Maysa???!!! The price for the cd was a bit much ,but I'm an incognito fanatic and can't seem to get enough of their material. this collection is for the avid fan...
