Très belle réédition,pastille Parlophone,rabats,du beau travail,soigné,l'amateur est respecté ce qui est loin d'être toujours le cas.Le consommateur aimerait que ces normes soient toujours respectées !
Both Mick Taylor and Greg Lake had briefly been in the Gods as well as future founding member of Uriah Heep Paul Newton,but the recording line up featured Ken Hensley, Lee Kerslake, future Chicken Shack Carmen and Jethro Tull bass player John Glasscock and guitarist John Konas. If somebody told you this was an early album by Uriah Heep you would probably not argue, even though it was recorded in 68 the trade mark Hammond sound is there as well as the multiple group vocals and Beach Boys on steroids harmonies that characterised the Heep sound. John Konas plays with a fairly raucous guitar tone. The production is good,the limited track recording and the slightly psychedelic sound bites between tracks giving its vintage away. I personally prefer this album to follow up 'To Samual A Son' a concept album which was released after the band had split,as i feel that Genesis is the more cohesive of the two. This line up went on to back Cliff Bennett on the first Toe Fat album, Hensley then releasing the Head Machine project before joining up with Paul Newton again in the newly formed Uriah Heep. Lee Kerslake would join just in time for the Demons And Wizards album from 1972 after a stint with The National Head Band whos sole album is available on Esoteric and is also worth a listen, produced by Eddie Offord and also featuring later Caravan keyboard player Jan Schelhass.
