Sunmachine is an interesting mix; interesting because it's about equal parts appealing and forgettable. "Sunchyme," which opens and closes the CD, sounds rather like something you'd hear in a dance club, only more cheerful, and "Carnaval de Paris" contains some odd juxtapositions (did I hear bagpipes in there?). The oddly titled "Be My Friend" has some vaguely Middle Eastern touches, and "Malaway" is based around something that may or may not be a didjeridu. However, if one of your criteria for music is that you remember it after the CD's stopped playing, you'll probably want to give Sunmachine a miss. While a pleasant listen, not much of it is memorable. --Genevieve Williams

美しいアンビエントクラブサウンド

聴いていると、自然と心がうきうきする。アンビエントテクノと言えばいいのか。きれいなストリングスとトランスビートがブレンドされて、心地よさが生まれている。曲にはかなりのバリエーションがあり、ピアノを基調としたサウンドがいい。
ボーカルものもあり、かなりポジティブなダンス志向のアルバム

... lange nicht gehört, zufällig im Radio wiederentdeckt bei einer Wunschsendung. Sunchime heißt der "alte" Hit, das erste Stück auf der CD, die nachfolgenden Stücke sind absolut hörenswerte, melodische Variationen dieses Thema's ... empfehlenswert für Zuhörer, die nicht nur am bekannten Hit kleben ... es macht auch Spaß, zu erraten, welchen musikalischen Weltkreis man gerade durchquert ... Schottland, Südsee, Spanien, Südamerika, Asien u.v.a....

I didn't own this CD a week ago, and now I can't get it out of my head. On first listening I realized I have heard much of this before, on TV and some commercials. And the opener, Sunchyme, is a beautiful remake of 'Life in a Northern Town' from the Dream Academy's 1985 album, honest to the original, but even more joyous and totally uplifting. I've struggled through all types of music in my life, always looking for those nuggets of good feeling and emotion, and sometimes trying to like music that wasn't touching my heart and soul. I don't think I've ever stumbled on a release which so fully expresses what fun music can sound like. Not hard at all. Just turn it on and it will turn you on.
