This is a perfect roots reggae album from the golden era of the mid to late 70s. Sound quality is absolutely superb (as can be expected from a Blood & Fire release), as is the selection of artists and tracks. An absolute must-have for any serious fan of roots, as well as an excellent introduction to those new to this genre. Real music played by real people, superb musicians and vocalist's at the peak of their powers. Highly highly recommended. Timeless and essential.

This cd is an out of print collection of songs produced at Channel 1 and Randy's Studio between 1975-78 by Manzie Swaby with the Revolutionaries (Sly & Robbie, Ansell Collins, Sticky Thompson, and others) in support of classic roots reggae and DJ toasting beats. Blood and Fire records carefully selected these songs produced at a time when the 45 and 12 inch single ruled the airwaves and turntables. Often selected as an absolute must have for hard core reggae music collectors, this is a good survey of Pablo Moses, Junior Byles, Bim Sherman, U Brown, and others best songs.
