I like German rock music, especially from the early 70s onwards. I own numerous albums from a good selection of bands but I'd never heard anything from Guru Guru before. I'm always eager to give new material a go so when this album cropped up at a decent price I thought: 'Why not?' However, in between placing the order (thank-you hotshotrecords, excellent service by the way) and receipt, I happened to spot a clip from their Rockpalast gig on YouTube. Seriously, WTF !! If that was representative of what this band were about then I'd made a big mistake with this order. They looked like a cross between ... oh, I dunno ... Madness and The Goodies. Either way, I couldn't watch it. So anyway, I've just played the album through for the first time and yes, I like it. What a relief !! It's pretty much how I'd hoped it might be. Would I buy another album by Guru Guru? Yes, for sure. But I'd need to be more careful about it. Or else take advice from someone who knows more about their history. One thing is guaranteed - it won't be the Rockpalast show !!!
Hardy
