Robert Miles had a tough task to follow on from and better his Dreamland album and he certainly does with 23AM. A beautiful collection of orchestral style music blended with a few vocal tracks. The opening track is haunting with its moody background and thunder claps, the second track with its experimental baby noises is inspired. Then comes a few vocal tracks before finishing off with more instrumental. I would highly recommend. Five stars.
I bought Robert Miles cd Dreamland a couple of years ago, because I was just looking for something new to listen to. I never heard of him before, but man can I tell you. He is so very talented, and his style is not like any other DJ. The female vocalists, emotion, and the feel for it is done so perfectly.
I highly recommend this cd for any person who enjoys trance music, but also has a taste and passion for vocals. All of Robert Miles cds are great to relax to, or even would be great for playing in a salon. It has a very special touch.
This is a beautiful piece of work from the late Robert Miles. It has amazing soundscapes and brings to mind Vangelis, Conjure One, Delerium, Enigma and BT to name but a few. The magical vocals from Kathy Sledge on "Freedom" (released as a single) work wonderfully with the piano style we all know so well from "Children" If you're expecting another "Dreamland"....this certainly has elements of that but is a more evolved offering showcasing Robert's talents. Buy it, it's brilliant :O)
