Import only compilation from the late great Motown vocalist and songwriter. Her career was nurtured and developed by Stevie Wonder, who was her songwriting partner and first husband! Originally a secretary for Motown, Syreeta rose from that position to backing vocalist, songwriter and then, finally, solo artist in the early '70s. Features 18 tracks, including her smash duet with Billy Preston-'With You I'm Born Again', which has proved one of Motown's biggest hits. Additional highlights include the hits, 'Signed Sealed Delivered, I'm Yours', 'Spinnin' and Spinnin' and 'Your Kiss Is Sweet'. Universal.

Stevie Wonderの最初の奥様、Syreeta Wrightのベスト盤です。
収録曲の半分くらいが二人の共作となっています。
個人的に好きなのが、
「Spinnin' and Spinnin'」と「Your Kiss Is Sweet」。
声もサウンドもキラキラしています。
他にもBilly PrestonやSmokey Robinsonとのデュエットや、
Ashford & Simpsonの曲などが収められていて、
充実した内容になっています。

シリータ・ライトの歌唱と楽曲は★★★★★
です。

UKからの輸入盤で新品、本体￥461+送料￥350と格安ですが、とにかく音質が悪いです。
今どきCDを購入する目的は、動画サイトの低レートの音源では満足しない人々です。

￥5,000程度のBluetoothスピーカーで鳴らすなら、わざわざCDを買いません。まともなパッシブスピーカーとアンプで最低限のCDクオリティの音が欲しいからです。この音源ではリッピングしてFLACにする気も無くなります。
まったく音に艶が無く、AMラジオのような音で近年稀に見る低音質CDでした。

販売者には、ぜひとも一考して欲しいものです。

When I heard “To Know You Is To Love You” (again after some years perhaps) in the film “Samba” I looked for it on a CD and this was the one I bought. I was also pleased with the other tracks on this compilation, for example “Your Kiss Is Sweet” brought back fond memories of hearing the song on the radio when it was a hit back in the early ‘70’s though I have to confess I didn’t buy it back then but I am pleased to be able to listen to it again now.

Many of the tracks I wasn’t familiar with and am not too sure about but quite a few I did know and it was good to hear them again – songs like “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”, “Harmour Love”, “Your Kiss Is Sweet” and the one song that as soon as I heard it again I said I’ve got to get that on a CD or download or whatever and am so glad I did get the wonderful “To Know You Is To Love You” such a good Syreeta/Wonder song.

Syreeta Write really had a fantastic singing voice.

Rita Wright fue la mujer de Stevie Wonder y aunque ya tenia grabaciones anteriores en el album del 74 "Stevie Wonder Presents Syreeta" inicio una carrera conjunta y el album posterior de Stevie Wonder "Songs in the Key of Life" tambien estuvo presente. No estuvieron mucho tiempo casados y trabajaron juntos unos cuantos años mas tras su separacion.
En este CD tenemos varias canciones compuestas por ambos y yo destacaria Spinnin' and Spinnin' y Your Kiss Is Sweet, y adicionalmente varias colaboraciones y en ellas para mi la mejor es With You I'm Born Again con Billy Preston.
Una buena seleccion de canciones de esta mujer que tras batallar contra el cancer murio en el 2004.
