One Love trawls through Marley's most revered studio albums to bring together 20 of his most famous--if not his best--songs. As we all know by now, Marley is a legendary figure whose music stands eternal and most of the records featured here are already grafted permanently on to our sonic subconscious. A simple nanosecond intro of any of the songs featured here--"Stir It Up", "Exodus", "One Love/People Get Ready", "Lively Up Yourself", "Jamming"--is all that's required to provoke goosepimples, and an overwhelming desire to start building camp-fires and crooning. Although it could be asked whether such overly familiar songs really need to be aired again, once you begin listening to the album such doubts fade quickly. Marley's erudite and incisive lyricism and penchant for writing timeless, catchy and heart-warming songs was startling and it's no bad thing to be reminded of this. Though some of his political sentiments may seem anachronistic and irrelevant today, his spiritual messages and humane optimism still stir the heart and soul. --Paul Sullivan

Hier versammeln sich wie erwartet alle seine großen Erfolge und beim Hören merkt man das es doch eine ganze Menge waren. Das er ein Musikgenie war muss man wohl nicht mehr besprechen. Wer gerne Reggae und etwas zu Bob Marley sucht greifft hier zu. Ein extra Tipp für alle neuen Reggaefreunde wäre auch die Gruppe "Third World"

This Very Best Of... CD by Bob Marley & The Wailers is an excellent compilation of top-notch reggae tracks! From great tracks like "I Shot The Sheriff" "Lively Up Yourself" plus "Iron Lion Zion" and loads more wonderful tunes to boot! This CD shows most fans how brilliant this group really were. Add the fact that most of their music is legendary nowadays, and you've got another reason to check out how good they really were. And they really were good.. that's for sure!

Direttamente dall'Inghilterra questo "Best", spedito a tempo di record e già ascoltato e riascoltato.
Pregio: contiene i classici di "Legend" e mi aggiunge bellissime songs ingiustamente escluse dalla raccolta più venduta di Marley.
"Natural mystic" , "Iron lion zion" e "Concrete jungle" in particolare.
Booklet fotografico molto carino.

I am huge fan of SHM discs being more useful than SACD where your player needs compatibility. This CD benefits from the increased clarity of SHM media enhances the musicality of this superb reggae collection. It’s a shame the price for these discs is so high and mostly produced for the Japanese market.
