Wu-Tang Clan mastermind RZA's sophomore solo project comes with Kobe Bryant-high expectations. Unfortunately, there's much here to suggest that the RZA's beat-making skills need to be RZA-rected. The largely sample-based vocal loops employed on "Can't Loose" and spontaneous tempo changes on "Brooklyn Babies" hint at the full brilliance once illustrated by one of hip-hop's most avant-garde producers. Similarly, "Must Be Bobby" boasts some of the off-kilter keyboard sounds that have become a trademark of his productions. However, long gone are the experimental beats and rhymes first heard on Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Instead, one is left with confusing tracks in which barely decipherable rapid-fire rhymes about bedding women and shooting guns are strung together. "Black Widow Pt.2" is another one of those mediocre and offensive songs where lyrical loose cannon Ol' Dirty Bastard utters juvenile profanities. While "Show You Love" is a timely ode to the full range of Wu diehards, Bobby Digital's sexcapade rhymes square off one too many times against his 5%-Nation-of-Islam musings. Doesn't one style completely undermine the other? Well, "Build Strong" kind of sums up why RZA's once-dominant career is spiraling downwards when he raps that he's "physically enslaved by the luxuries of this world / So I behave like a man inside the grave, who's life is lost." --Dalton Higgins

RZA's follow-up to his first solo album, "Bobby Digital in Stereo" is extremely consistent and makes some improvements on the album before it. "Digital Bullets" has some more thought-out songs, more focused and innovative beats, and actually just flows a lot better than "Bobby in Stereo" did. That doesn't mean it's better than the first album.

The beats are like a mix between the "Wu-Tang forever" and "Iron Flag" with even more experimentation. Some tracks like "Bong, Bong" "Domestic Violence Pt. 2", and a couple others aren't up to par with the rest of the songs here and slow the album down some but not enough to make you bored.

The lyrics are straight-up thugged out and talk about street life and mentality. RZA's lyrics feel like digital bullets sometimes cuz they're so intense. At the same time, towards the end of the album, RZA shows a vulnerable/wiser side that we never got on the debut album. It was a smart way to go.

The reason I don't think this is a 5 star album is because this album is like 70 minutes and I don't think RZA needed to include some of the tracks that dragged the album. It could've been flawless but since this is how it was released, i took off a star.

For any Wu-Head, definitely pick it up because all the members of the Wu who guest tear it up and even the guests that aren't from the Wu are great.

If you're new to RZA or the Wu-Tang, start with "Enter the 36 Chambers".

Andere dagegen sind der absolute Hammer (Show u Love / Throw Your Flag Up / Sickness).
Alles in allem ein solides bis gutes Album, was vllt ein wenig zugänglicher für nicht Wu Fans ist, als noch das ältere Material.
