内容紹介

Yes, this is the little pop band from Pasadena who, without an agent, manager, or record deal of any kind landed the opening slot on the entire 2001 U.S. WEEZER / GET UP KIDS tour. How did they do it? With amazing songs. Rock And Roll part 3 is that same collection of amazing songs that allowed Ozma to achieve the impossible. After selling over 4,000 copies on their own of what can justifiably be called a true indie masterpiece, Kung Fu Records is proud to release the album that started it all in a completely re-mastered form, with expanded packaging and enhanced CD features. Some say, "hey this sounds like Weezer." We say, "if you must make that comparison then think of them as a younger, cuter, Weezer; without the baggage." These guys (and one girl- the lovely Star Wick on keyboard) call it power pop-geek rock and have written some of the best songs written by anyone, anywhere, at anytime. They are that good. It is powerful guitar driven pop laced with perfect ! melodies that you can't help playing over and over again in your car, at your desk, or anywhere. It takes one play to love each song and be impressed by the lyrics but after a few listens it becomes hard not to throw around terms like "pure genius."

5.0 An Awesome CD!

Ozma is a great band in my opinion, so naturally (as with any great band) I decided to buy their CD. It shipped well, tracked the whole way here, and the CD even contains more than I expected (extras and such). Overall I would have to give this 5 stars!

It's great when you find an album that, after five months of regular listening, still manages to surprise you. For me that's Ozma: 'Rock And Roll Part Three'.
On first listen, the influence of Weezer is wholly apparent - all the incessant "Woahh"ing and bass-driven choruses are there; but go beyond the obvious and you will find 11 beautifully-crafted songs about unrequited love, nostalgia, and more than anything else, hope. Clever lyrics and stupid puns ("It's time that I make like an apple tree and leave") all contribute to this highly individual and thought-provoking album.
Highlights include 'Apple Trees', 'Baseball' and 'Battlescars', and the childhood references contained in 'In Search of 1988'. Flaws? The only one that springs to mind is the CD's closing line, "You've lost your last chance", sung in a vaguely NYAH NYAH NYAH NYAH NYAH manner which I find irritating, but otherwise 'Rock And Roll Part Three' is difficult to fault. In fact, if Button Moon was a band instead of a really cute childrens TV show about animate washing up liquid bottles, it would undoubtedly sound like Ozma. Without a trace of pretentiousness or false modesty, this album is refreshing in that it doesn't take itself too seriously: instead that is left to the listener. A fantastic debut.

I loved the song "battlescars," so i gave this whole album a try since it was inexpensive. I don't think it's worth your time to listen to - not very good.
