A totally different project and sound from Green Day, but man, they nailed it. Don't expect to hear anything conventional, because you won't. It's more like a stange journey trough a side road instead of following the big and wide Green Day path, but it's worth the time. I specially like Roshambo, maybe because it's the most closer one to the original Green Day sound.
O.k. first I know it didn't come out in 2009 but I saw Green Day in concert and only found out about this album in 2009. I got it with low expectations but found that it has incredibly good fun catchy music. It's great music to run by. There is one song off the new Green Day album that has the "network" sound... I can't recall which one but you'll figure it out immediately. The album reminds me of some old Surf rock too. Just a warning... the album contains "naughty words" and that could be the deal maker or breaker for some of you. You have to love the liner notes... there is just this great subversive quality to playing this album.
