オリジナルアルバムは持っているのでボーナスディスク目当てで購入です。
リマスターは比べていないのであまり効果は分かりませんがボーナスディスクは最高です。

　このアルバムはコステロのスランプの時期に当たる作品（それほど出来が悪いとも思わないけど・・・）。個人的には、オリジナル・アルバム未収録でボーナス・トラックとして1994年にようやく陽の目を見た「暗い日曜日」一曲で買う価値があると思ってます。
　この曲は「自殺の聖歌」として知られる曲で、この曲をきっかけとした自殺者が続出し発売・放送禁止になったというエピソードを持つ1933年の曲。生ギター一本でのコステロの演奏は（明らかにビリー・ホリデイの1942年の演奏をコピーしているものの）ビリー・ホリデイよりも歌の世界に肉迫した名演と思います。「暇つぶしのために録音した」と本人が語っていますが、伝えられるこの時期のコステロの荒れよう、この切々とした歌い口から、「マジ」の録音と思います。

A mon avis, Trust est le meilleur album d'Elvis Costello. A part la seconde chanson, lassante au bout de quelques secondes, le reste est... bourré de trouvailles mélodiques, harmoniquement futé, lyriquement ravageur et toujours plein de cet art rythmique qui est la marque de fabrique du bonhomme. Électrisant du début à la fin. Mentions spéciales à "Clubland", étourdissant - "From a whisper to a scream", à mon avis le meilleur rock du début des années 80 - et bien sûr "Shot with his own gun", moment suspendu, juste le piano et la voix du maître. L'économie des moyens au service de l'émotion.

One of Elvis' best efforts. I have loved this album since high school and the early 1980's, and when all of the tape players leave your cars, you are forced to go out and get the CD and then MP3, etc. I think there is a pretty strong opinion that This Years Model may have been his best all time, and I could not disagree, but in my book Trust comes in a close second. Bonus tracks are pretty interesting and a nice twist after years of listening to the same album you know inside and out.
There is something unique about Costello, and the way his lyrics and rythymns imbed themselves in your head for decades. The impact to me was so strong that I may not listen to it for many years and the next time- bang- every note and word is like you just heard it yesterday.
I don't know of any other lyricist that competes with Elvis in the last 35 years. I was fortunate enough to see him in High School and it was one of the greatest concerts I ever attended at the time.

When I was 17 and first got this album I was disappointed that there was a lack of anger and caffeine energy as in his previous albums, I just listened to "Fish and Chip Paper", "Watch Your Step" and "Clubland" over and over again ignoring the rest of the cuts. But 20+ years later as an adult all the stuff just sounds great. Like a great novel there's a certain amount of living that is required to be able to understand the beauty of the art. What sticks out for me now is "You'll Never be a Man", - the instrumental backup of the lyrical gymnastics and piano solo sends me into a melancholly daydream every time.
